Pink agar jelly is flying over a tank of acid. Slice it in mid-air so the acid can diffuse right to the middle of every piece before the timer runs out. Smaller pieces have a bigger surface area to volume ratio and a shorter distance to the middle. Then the lab gets cold, hot and short of acid, so you'll see how temperature and the concentration gradient change the rate of diffusion too.
