We’ve just added something our students have been asking for: proper flash cards, built right into every lesson.

They’re starting with our Pearson Edexcel IGCSE Biology (4BI1) course, where every single lesson now has its own deck. That’s 4,408 flash cards across all 260 lessons, each one written from the lesson itself so it matches exactly what you’ve learnt.

You can try them for free right now, no sign up needed.

Where to find the flash cards

Look for the purple Flash Cards button at the top of any Biology lesson, next to Test Your Knowledge, Lemonaire and Last Stand.

Press it and you’ll go straight to the flash cards for that lesson.

Pick how you want to revise

There are five ways to play:

  • Learn This Lesson: go through every card. Any you miss come back a few cards later until you’ve got them.
  • Smart Review: log in and we’ll show you the cards that are due each day, from this lesson and the ones before it.
  • Quickfire: beat the clock and answer as many cards as you can, from 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Endless: keep going until you lose all three lives.
  • Topic Mix: 25 cards from this lesson and the earlier lessons in the same topic.

Three levels: Easy, Medium and Hard

Choose Easy, Medium or Hard difficulty for the Biology flash cards

Every mode has three levels, so the cards grow with you as your knowledge does.

Easy: flip and rate yourself

Read the question, think of your answer, then flip the card.

Then be honest with yourself. Tap Again, Unsure or Got it. On a phone you can swipe the card instead, and on a computer you can use the Space bar and the 1, 2 and 3 keys.

Medium: type the key word

You get a clue and type the key word. We even tell you how many words and letters it has, so it’s never a guessing game. Small spelling slips are fine, and if you know you were right, you can say so.

Hard: explain it in your own words

This is the real exam test. Write your answer in your own words and it’s marked by AI against the key points an examiner would look for. If you’ve missed something, it tells you what, so you learn from every card.

Spaced repetition that remembers for you

When you’re logged in, every card you answer is saved. Cards you know well come back less often, and cards you struggle with come back sooner. This is called spaced repetition, and it’s one of the best ways to make facts stick for the exam.

Each lesson also has a mastery bar, so you can see how many of its cards you’ve really got.

Points, streaks and stars

You earn points for every right answer, build up a streak, and get up to three stars at the end. There are sound effects as you go and some relaxing lo-fi music you can skip or switch off.

More subjects on the way

IGCSE Biology is just the start. We’re writing flash cards for our other courses now, and they’ll appear on each lesson as soon as they’re ready.

We hope you love them as much as we do. As always, we’d love to hear your feedback and anything you’d like to see to help you learn.
